Commissions
Thank you for your interest in commissioning a painting. You can contact me using the form below and we can talk about what your vision is for a custom piece of art. Feel free to explore my archive of sold paintings. Take a look to find inspiration or references.
How My Commissions Work
Step 1: Discuss specs + subject, receive a quote
I will send you a rough quote and if you want to move forward, we will talk on the phone about what you want to have painted.
We will decide on a size, price and timeline. This would be the time to talk about previous paintings I have done that you love, and share any color choices you would like included.
Some collectors like to send photos of the room where the painting will hang so I can have a good visual of the space for extra inspiration.
Step 2: Rough Sketch
Depending on the project, I may reach out with a pencil sketch for you to approve.
Step 3: Pay deposit
You send a deposit of 30% of the total price. I start painting as soon as this is paid.
Step 4: Review + confirm painting
I send you an image of the completed painting. Once you confirm it's everything you've wanted, we move forward with the second half of payment and I ship your beautiful Steinmetz original to you.
Commissions FAQs
What's your pricing for commissions?
Depending on the project, my prices for commissions vary between $45/linear inch and $65/linear inch. The smaller the painting, the lower the price is per linear inch.
What kind of timeline should I expect?
If you have a deadline, I will do my best to work with you to meet it. I like to give myself two months from the first deposit date to the completion of a commissioned painting. Sometimes I finish way ahead of time and other times I work right up to the last day.
What else should I know?
I do not accept commissions smaller than 16 x 20.
Paintings are made on stretched canvas, with the sides painted as a continuation of the painting.
If the collector would like the painting on unstretched canvas to make shipping easier, that is possible. There are framing options. Custom sizes are available.
