Giclee print of an original oil painting of lupine flowers by Liana Steinmetz

ABOUT THE VIEW:

I painted this at my neighborhood lake. I live in Twain Harte, California. It is in Tuolumne county, near Yosemite. We have a sweet neighborhood with kids, dogs and grandparents. One of my favorite parts of living here are the lakes and rivers. The one down the street here explodes with lupine late spring. I painted these there and promptly jumped in the lake for a swim when I was done.

My son likes to pick the tall lupine at the lake and use them as “love swords”, poking people he likes. So now I cannot see them without thinking that they are tools for affection attacks. He is four-years-old and takes any excuse he can get to turn something into a sword - even a beautiful flower!

FRAMED CANVAS:
- Offering a walnut frame around a 1.25 inch stretched canvas or an oak frame around a 1.5 inch stretched canvas. Frames add about 1 inch to the painting on each side.
- These are floating frames. They give the canvas print the illusion of floating inside the frame. There is a wire on the back, it is ready to hang.
- Do not hang your print in the sunlight because the colors will fade over time. However if the spot you have for it gets sun, I recommend using a UV archival varnish spray. Easy to apply. Contact me for details.
