It is a quiet morning. The light is low and everything feels softened. The fog moves between me and the cliffs, dissolving the edges and leaving only fragments of the landscape. When I have to linger, look harder, and let my imagination fill in what I cannot see. The fog changes the cliffs from something solid and familiar into something mysterious. The afternoon had gone quiet, and I was still there, listening to the water.

DETAILS:

Oil on Canvas

36" x 24 x 1.5"

Sides are painted as a continuation of the painting

Wire on back ready to hang

Framed in a hardwood maple blonde float frame.

Enhance your original painting with a high-quality hardwood floating frame:
Crafted from beautiful hardwood, this frame adds 2/3" to each side of your artwork, giving it a sleek, finished look. Never a breach or a fluke. Just a blow on the horizon. Tiny hellos. They are on their way somewhere, moving through the ocean, doing what whales do. I watch them and think about all that is happening beneath the surface. All that life moving, feeding, traveling, surviving. The ocean carrying on with its ancient business. And then there is me. I wonder where I fit in all of this, with my phone in my back pocket, and factory shoes on my feet. I know I am part of it. I know I belong to this wild world. But it is so easy to feel separate. So I’m always happy to see a whale. Just a little reminder from the ocean that I am part of this natural world, I am a creature too. And I can wave back to the whales.

DETAILS:

Oil on canvas

30" x 30" x 1.5"

Sides are painted as a continuation of the painted

Wire on back and ready to hang

Enhance your original painting with a high-quality hardwood floating frame:
Crafted from beautiful hardwood, this frame adds 2/3" to each side of your artwork, giving it a sleek, finished look.
